Darrell Guilford has more than 30 years of experience in legal research and the preparation of civil and criminal legal documents, with extensive knowledge of Florida and Federal criminal appellate and postconviction matters.
Throughout his career, he has worked alongside and under the guidance of experienced attorneys throughout Florida, conducting legal research, reviewing complex case records, and assisting in the preparation of motions, appeals, and postconviction filings. His work has involved hundreds of cases, including matters in which individuals obtained new trials, sentence reductions, or other postconviction relief.
His experience extends through both the Florida State and Federal judicial systems, with a particular concentration in criminal appeals and postconviction relief. He has investigated and assisted with hundreds of postconviction cases involving individuals incarcerated within the Florida Department of Corrections and Federal Bureau of Prisons.
His involvement in postconviction work has also extended to matters affecting Florida criminal procedure. The Florida Supreme Court accepted comments and recommendations he submitted concerning Florida Rule of Criminal Procedure 3.850, resulting in changes to the rule governing one of Florida's principal procedures for seeking postconviction relief.

Darrell previously served as Deputy Director of the Florida Justice Center, where he oversaw day-to-day operations supporting the delivery of vital legal services to justice-impacted individuals throughout Florida.
That leadership experience, combined with decades of work involving legal research, criminal appeals, postconviction matters, reentry services, and advocacy, provides the foundation for the careful, practical, and client-focused approach of Pre & Postconviction Paralegal Services LLC.
